'“Yasmin, help me!” Panting, my chest heaved, the cold of the night sticking mildew to my skin. Hearing a branch snap to my left, I bolted to my right. The hairs on my arms felt like glass, cuts forming where trees slapped and scraped. “I can’t find you!” I screamed, hoping she’d come crashing into me at any second; his grunts getting louder as I ripped through my surroundings. Finally finding a clearing, I looked toward the storm clouds forming above; the sky hollow and angry. Spitting hair from my mouth, I burst through, stopping on the tracks of a dirt road leading up a steep hill. Forcing myself forward, that all too familiar scent hit my nose, paralyzing me. Falling to the dirt, my knees ached as I looked down to chains wrapped around my waist, wrists and ankles. Again, I couldn’t save her. “NO!” Shaking my body to free myself, next I felt the weight of his fist on my face.'
