I awoke in a space. My neck guiding my sight to both arms and the way that they stretched out, weightless. My fingers danced, but I couldn’t feel them. Peering down, my nightgown fell against my skin, the silk material outlining the bones in my hips. The sag of my breasts. Watching the slow rise and fall of my chest, I was confined now by an essence that only I controlled; sworn off finding my fear. “Wait for your senses.” Almost hypnotised, a strike to my head arched my back, ripping me open from between my ribs. Lighting up, a void above me fermented in its liquid current, matching me in both mass and volume. My body jerked with the motions.
